The Activity Monitor FAQ

The Activity Monitor is a system which runs constantly, monitoring how active online players are. The information it gathers is used to decide when to update players' stats - for example, a vampire will not lose blood overnight unless the character has been roleplayed. Likewise, the vampire will not regain willpower.

The process of updating the character stats is called an 'activity update'. These updates happen at sunrise for characters who are logged in, and at login for characters who miss a sunrise update. They will only occur if the character has been online, in-character, and sufficiently active. If the character has been active, but not sufficiently so, the activity total is carried over to the next day. This means that characters only RPed for very short periods each day will be updated every second or third day.
