Cast: Hendrik, Puck (Samael), Titania (Celeste), Undine Fairy (Kusala), Ibanez
Location: Huntington Circle - The Huntington - San Marino
Time: The real IC-date is on Saint David's Day
Synopsis: Harrison Mayfair had announced 'The Leek Festival' since long. It was to be organized by Samael, Keeper of Huntington. When it finally took place the Festival included various activities like a fencing-contest with leeks and a Bardic Circle. It is the later that is presented in this log.
Eastern Botanic Gardens - The Huntington - San Marino
The grounds present a strange, rolling shadow land, carved by the glow of footlights that mark the varied garden borders; beyond that the half-light fades to a penumbral tracery of foliage. They span nearly 150 acres of sweeping lawns and vistas, interspersed with classical statues, tempiettos and benches; all admittedly a little harder to find at night. The open lawns of the palm garden contrast with the densely shrouded jungle to the south, while to the east, sharp and twisted forms characterize the desert garden.
On this day of Saint David, the Huntington Gardens are the center of various activities in the honor of the Saint. The Theme of this Festival is 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' from William Shakespeare; all fairytale, medieval and fantasy.
Hendrik comes along the path that leads to the westerly branch of the gardens.
Hendrik has arrived.
Hendrik is walking through the Eastern Gardens with a Takamine 12-string guitar strapped to his back lovingly. He seems to be all smiles and he hums a fiery tune happily.
Puck.. also known as Sam just makes his way over from the Medieval festivities, back to the lily pond. In doing so, the young lad gets a lot of waves and nods from the roaming personnel, and delivers an equal amount in turn.
Hendrik finally makes his way over to the Lily Pond. He looks over at Puck with a wide smile. "Looking festive tonight, Sam!" He bows, and proceeds to fish around in his pockets for a pick. Oh, what a relationship guitarists have with their picks.
Puck glances over when his name, although not the name for this evening, is mentioned. The young lad moves into a playful extensive bow, before offering a "Welcome Wanderer". And offers a broad smile; "Also known as Hendrik I believe. Last time, I congratulated you on Primogen." He winks; "Would you like to have new congratulations or condolences now?"
Auspex on Puk notes:
«a bit tired maybe, mostly acting, although he seems more 'upbeat' than normally.»
"That seems to be what everyone is asking these days!" says the rocker with a laugh. "But I'll take both, as long as you promise not to use titles. They're such an antiquated formality, don't you agree?" Finally, he finds a pick, and begins to tune his guitar softly.
Auspex on Hendrik notes:
«Looking forward to playing that thing in his hands.»
Puck hees and approaches Hendrik a bit, clearly studying that instrument; "I've had many names." he admits; "But Seneschal is not one of them. If I agree? I guess that depends on the Domain and the person." He falls silent, curiosity taking over.
Auspex on Puck notes:
«Somehow, that guitar from Hendrik wins when it comes to interest between the instrument and 'politics'.»
Hendrik chuckles and nods. "Everything depends, except for music. It's one language that's the same across the whole world." He strums a clear C minor chord. "It's something everyone can relate too, yah know?" Without even thinking, the man begins alternating between the C and an equally diminished E minor, playing on the night aire like dragonflies in the mist. The fourth measure comes, and slow augmentations begin infiltrating the dark tune. Suddenly, his voice sounds loudly. A soulful sound it is, coming from the inner-most regions of his being. The power of Maynard James Keenan splashed against the fire of Eddie Veder. Deep, dark, and in key at all times. Back to the C. "The rivers flow into the sea… The darkness drifts on their decree… A floating soul hope someday, /he/ will find the answeerrrsss… but the silver cord keeps him, from being… free…"
Puck glances up, blue gaze meeting Hendrik eyes. The smile broadens and he nods.. and shivers for a split second, eyes widening as he watches Hendrik’s play.. then sing. Entranced, for a moment, waiting for silence; "It is.. I think." the lad agrees eventually and ohs.. as he remembers his own guitar lying near one of the benches; "I saw you put your name in for the Bardic Circle by the way. Thank you for that."
Auspex on Puck notes:
«surprise.. by Hendrik’s play. He seems rather absorbed by it.»
Titania approaches from the Huntington Circle.
Titania has arrived.
Undine Fairy approaches from the Huntington Circle.
Undine Fairy has arrived.
Description Titania:
Titania, Queen of the Fairies. This is the only person this petite blonde can be. Her hair is cropped short in a pixie style, and is nearly snow white. The longer strands near her hair have been threaded with silver strands of silk, and pearls that glimmer when the light hits them just right. Settled atop her head is a small but elegant silver tiara, it holds a single blue gem in the middle of it. She stands five foot three in her small silver slippers. Titania's skin is pale, or rather most of it is.. Across the left the side of her body, peeking out from under the silken shoulder of her white and golden gown, is a lick of burnt and reddened skin. The burns, obviously not completely healed, run along her left shoulder across her collar bone, and touch the left side of her throat. She however wears them with pride.
Titania is dressed in a white and golden gown, meant to be worn by a queen. It is elegantly tailored to fit her miniscule curves, showing of what little figure she has with a gold corset, and a long full white skirt that is threaded with shimmering gold stitching and designs. Set against her back are two dainty and translucent fairie wings. They like her hair and her dress are threaded with golden and silver threads, and have a swirling design to them.
Description Undine Fairy:
Undine Fairy rushes in, a box in hand, she looks hither and yon, yon and hither, deciding Puck must be the one she's looking for. Indeed she seems all out of breath as she comes up to Puck, "why Mistah Sam dat be a right fine outfit! Ah be pea green with envy."
Undine Fairy whispers to Puck, "ah got dat prize we discussed, ah be so afraid ah wudn't make it."
Titania leaves her Shawl somewhere behind in the entrance area, surely there is a coat rack? If not well she's got minions, they can buy her a new one before she leaves. The smell of burnt skin wafts subtly from Titania's direction. The Faerie Queen walks in with the grace of well a Queen. Her footsteps carry her toward Puck and Undine, who rushed past her. Her pace is even, she is no rush. A Queen should never run you know.
Auspex on Titania notes:
«Slightly pained from the burns.»
"No, my friend… thank you." replies Hendrik in the middle of a slow classical arpeggio. He and Sam are near the Lily Pond, and Hendrik is playing a Takamine 12-string guitar. His smile is absent minded as he plays, and at various moments he closes his eyes, lost in the melodies of the dark, diminished song. He tilts his head towards Puck's guitar and nods to him and the others who've joined before returning to the simple, dual chords of the chorus. C minor to E minor, and augmented sounds between, tieing his beautiful, powerful voice into the mix. "Heralded flights of angels near… the black feathers rain so proudly here… faint screams of justice and the /dissonance/ of righteous, wails… through the storms the pilots, steer… Oooohhh…" The eerie sound of a classically trained musician melded with the darkness of ages.
As mentioned before; Puck and Hendrik are close to the waters and mostly Sam is staring at Hendrik while he plays a 12 string guitar and sings.. clearly amazed, absorbed.. The lad seems in the process of picking up his own, very worn, very second hand guitar. But then the fairy approaches and he stares, needs a moment.. 'Erm..' Recognition surfaces and he makes a very Puck-like jump, then an extensive, elaborate bow; "How now, spirit!" He beams; "Spirit of the Sea Monkeys. A warm welcome to you." and.. his gaze shifts to Titania and an even more elaborate bow follows; "But, room, fairy! here comes our Queen!"
Undine Fairy says, "OOOooo,' she exclaims and curtseys most fair with pointed toe, "Gawd save da Queen!""
Auspex on Puck notes:
«close to worshipping Hendrik here.»
Titania lifts a hand to graciously motion for Puck and the Undine Fairy to raise. She murmurs in a soft voice, "My subjects, how is court this evening?" A Queen, should never speak above as whisper, either.
Hendrik's song raises an octave in tone and volume, but still provide a reasonable talking volume for those around him. With every beat comes a strong strum of E minor 7, and on the last beat there is three fast strums just a bit higher. After the second measure, he comes in strongly, singing loudly with vibrato and just enough rasp to make it both romantic and sad. "I know your throne is lined with velvet, and /I/… I know your crown is made of goooold. But when you wave the scepter, I just can't help but see the jester's, bold embrace of lies… it makes me cold… inside. Oh yeeeah!" It is then he breaks into a festival of tumultuous rhythms and bends, spiraling about the fretboard in a way that only a madman could do, and only a dreamer could find beautiful.
Auspex on Hendrik notes:
«Fully absorbed in song… happy. Content.»
Puck jumps up and approaches the queen, keeping his head low; "Why.. we are ready for the election of the King of Leeks, my Mistress!" Another smile, showing teeth. It's amazing how Sam manages not to look -entirely- ridiculous while behaving this way; "That and for the Bardic Circle of course, depending on who would join still.." and jolting over to the Undine Fairy now; "Good Spirit. Unless you have your own tale to tell, and even so, would you make our jury?" Well.. he may have wanted to say more, but really cannot draw his attention from Hendrik’s play any longer. Back to staring again.
The Undine Fairy rises, "oh fair 'n uh… raid-e-ant Queen, be ah… uh.. ah be here t'make yer pleashur da best it evah seen," she recites, and a little excited she managed to get it out.
Undine Fairy curtseys again just to be sure.
Titania reward Undine with a winning smile, she gestures toward the woman with her right hand. She then reaches up and extracts a pearl from her hair and holds it out toward the Undine. She flashes a bright grin to Puck and says, "Aah, King of the Leeks. Perhaps I shall grant the newly crowned King with a kiss upon his cheek."
Auspex on Titania notes:
«Amused, and -playing- the part, losing herself so that she becomes Titania.»
The interesting bends and tremelos of the 12-string guitar slow and come to a arpeggiated halt. Two chords are strummed softly, piercing the night with their augmented beauty. Hendrik's voice comes in one last time, softly accentuated every syllable of the words. Deeply, darkly, and with eyes closed he belts out, "The rivers flow into the sea… The darkness drifts on their decree… A floating soul hope someday, /he/ will find the answeerrrsss… but the silver cord keeps him, from being… free…"
… and then he stops, and takes a breath.
Auspex on Hendrik notes:
«Accomplished, enjoyment, suddenly realizing other people are there.»
Puck was kinda.. absorbed there. And remains for a while, watching Hendrik breath. Were this guy not a vampire one might start to think weird things; "That's.." he shakes his head; "Rich.." he nods and adds; "Amazingly.. that.. you have this in you still." Silence.. before managing to slip into his role again; "The jury probably will not need to think very long." Tearing himself away further, the young lad goes back to answering Titania; "Our sweet queen would bestow such a gift! How blessed our Chosen One must be."
Taking the pearl offered, the Undine Fairy holds it close to her twinkling eye, "da finest frum da sea, beyond compare!" then puts it deep between her breasts, " thank ya fer da pearl frum mah Queen's hair!"
Auspex on Undine Fairy notes:
«enjoying»
Titania smiles at Puck and blows him a kiss of his own. Her attention drifts toward the Undine for a moment, her nose wrinkles just a little at the placement of the pearl. However it passes and she comments, "Your Queen is ever sweet, for she is in a splendid mood this evening."
Auspex on Puck notes:
«seriously amazed, some sort of respect on a fundamental level»
Undine Fairy curtseys again just to be sure.
Hendrik smiles and bows low, flaring his hands out towards Puck, the Spirit, and the Queen. "It's but the job of a lowly minstrel on this fine evening." says Hendrik with a bit of a Portuguese accent. Surely, he may not be dressed the part, but as he raises from the bow with guitar in hand he seems all too fond of his character this night.
Puck ohs! And makes a few more jumps, and stumbles, to land flat on his face. The embarrassment! So he covers his eyes, because basic logic dictates that when he cannot see them, then surely they cannot see him as well.
Auspex on Puck notes:
«acting, really.»
Titania heaves a sigh and comments to the Undine, "Subject. Please help Puck up off of the floor, before he gets dirty."
Undine Fairy pauses nostrils flaring, she's trying not to laugh, nods at Hendrik respectfully, "thy music be jez midsummah night grand..," then turns to the fallen Puck, "oh dear! poor Puck! lemme give ewe a hand."
"Thank you, sweet spirit. Would you have any requests? I'll be sure to oblige." says Hendrik with a happy smile. He shifts a bit, looking over at the fallen Puck with a chuckle before fishing through his pockets for a crumpled pack of cigarettes.
Ibanez is hard to spot on occasion. Usually when he doesn’t want to be, which thankfully, changes rather dramatically. To dramatically. For who better to offer the fallen Puck a hand, than the image of a consorting fiend? "In peace there's nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility." Is delivered, along with that extended helping hand, in a voice as cold and passionless, as it is beautifully sweet and Spanish.
Ibanez has arrived.
Too late, there's a streak of dirt on pucks face already. Worse, one of his poor (glued) horns has left his forehead.. and he stumbles a bit more as Undine helps him raise.. and is surprised to find Ibanez' helping hand as well; "My Thanks to thee, Spirit of the Sea: Love shield thee well for this!" And stands to try and remove the dirt from his clothes. And he tries an elaborate bow in Ibanez' direction now, which almost causes him to stumble again; "And my gratitude to you, Good Wanderer, for helping poor Puck on his feet again." He gestures between Titania and Hendrik now; "Was this your contribution good Knight? Or could we expect more? Are there others that would join our Circle this night? To tell their tale, voice their song?"
Undine Fairy curtseys at Puck and moves back as he talks to others. She watches the proceeding with a delighted eye.
Auspex on Undine Fairy notes:
«enjoying»
Auspex on Puck notes:
«Oh my.. It's the Elder. And he just touched me! Well.. he's kind of nice.. is he not? Christ.. I'm not just behaving silly.. I'm thinking silly too!»
Titania smooths a hand over her dress and studies Ibanez quietly for a moment or two. She holds herself with the grace and dignity of a Queen. She comments to Ibanez, "Dear Lord, how are you this evening? I am Titania, Queen of the Fairies. Have you seen my love this evening? He is tall and broad, and ever so handsome."
"I'd love to hear the tales of another!" replies Hendrik with a smile. "But of course, I will gladly accept requests, or play originals. I am at your service tonight." He slings the guitar around behind his back and removes a small disposable lighter to bring fire to his cigarette. The smoke twists and twirls about him.
Hendrik smiles and gives a low bow to Ibanez. "Good evening." he says smokey-voiced.
Wandering through the garden, though she's not dressed in medieval garb, Kristin takes a moment to pause and watch the actors in various sections of the gardens. Upon wandering by a clothing booth, she pauses as a dress catches her eyes.
Ibanez cants his head to Puck, once raised to his feet. His hand retracts to his side and a steady gaze surveys around the gathered, around the gathered until they settle upon Titania. "Friendship is constant in all other things Save in the office and affairs of love: Therefore all hearts in love use their own tongues; Let every eye negotiate for itself And trust no agent." He begins to slowly shake that steady settled head to the Queen of the fairies, "I have not found this love you lost, nor lost any love to find here. I am, but myself. Faded in glory and lost in the bemusement of night."
Puck hmms and moves forward now to fetch that second hand insult for a guitar, suggesting; "Puck would not try for prizes, but tales he can do. A tale about a Queen no less, but not as fair as you." Another elaborate bow is made in Titania's direction. He tries to attach his poor rubber horn again, but fails. The dirt ruined it, so he tries to compensate by smiling prettily; A particularly broad one goes to Ibanez.
Auspex on Ibanez notes:
«various moments of amusement, mudded by the detachment he carries at almost all times, for all things. Including, but not limited to, amusement.»
Titania pulls a silver cellphone from her pocket and dials a number into the phone. She states quietly, "Subject, get me some super glue." Then hangs up.
Titania grins toward Ibanez, and gives him a small curtsey. Then grins winningly at Puck, of course there is no Queen as fair as she.
Ibanez smiles, but quite unpleasantly, in return to the Queen of Fairies and after so doing, turns to the troubadour and his instrument of musical warfare. "If music be the food of love, play on; Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die. That strain again! it had a dying fall: O, it came o'er my ear like the sweet sound That breathes upon a bank of violets, Stealing and giving odour!" Upon both of the weapon wielding warriors of musical attrition, is spoken.
Undine Fairy curtseys at Ibanez then moves her staff one way then another like a metronome needle, as if in some sort of fairy salute.
Titania has no staff to wave nor salute with. She does however have a Minion, in a tux scurry up to her after a few moments of speaking with the guards who hands her a bottle of super glue. She waves a hand, and the minion goes away. She murmurs to Puck calmly, "Come here, Poor Puck. Let us fix your poor little horn. I am afraid you have broken it. But your Queen has the fix for everything."
Puck blinks.. and eyes that tube of glue suspiciously.. Ah well, vampires shouldn't be squeamish about a bit of super-glue on their face, right? Even if it's a pretty face. So Puck moves forward and kneels before his queen; "My Mistress is too kind for a creature this small. Not like the Queen from my tale at all."
"Go on and tell your tale, dear Puck." Titania comments idly as she unscrews the cap and squeezes out a bit of the super glue onto Puck's face. she then takes ahold of the horn and jabs it into his forehead. She misses, just a little. The horn is a bit off center.. Well really off center and now in the center of his forehead.
"Pity is the virtue of the law, and none but tyrants use it cruelly." Ibanez comments off handedly to Puck and Titania both, when one kneels afront the other with head bowed and knee taken. "Who was it then, that said so boldenly, that size matter not?" A single brow perked in inquiry to his own inquiry, of himself..posssibly even to himself. The answer, ellusively, elludes him and instead he shakes his head and forgets it ever happened at all.
Undine Fairy listens on in rapt attention.
Auspex on Undine Fairy notes:
«enjoying»
Auspex on Ibanez notes:
«freckles of genuine enjoyment on the face of weighty disdain for things so pleasantly slanted.»
Hendrik's mirth seems to have come to a peak. The smiles are fair game tonight, everybody gets one and they're free of charge. Happily taking the last drag of his cigarette, he finds a nearby ashtray/garbage receptacle and puts it out. It doesn't take him long to walk back to the group of people, and he waits diligently to hear Puck's tales.
Puck glances between Ibanez and Titania muttering; "Perhaps my mistress has a tiny bit of that Queen in her still." He pushes the horn so it's really fixed, looking even more silly than he already did, and jumps up again; "But with my fairy powers restored, I will!" The young lad jolts over to his guitar, and takes a bit of distance.. enough distance to ensure that he can be properly ignored when the noblemen would wish to proceed with their conversation.
Titania claps her hands together and comments, "Go on then, Good Puck. And tell us a brilliant tale!"
Auspex on Hendrik notes:
«Happiness and serenity painted onto an inner core of distance and dissonance. But there is hope in the horizon.»
Puck checks his horn, and makes a magic-gesture, before his fingers touch the snares of the guitar, bringing forth the first few notes and accords of a simple melody. Those that are familiar might recognize Susan Vega's 'The Queen and The Soldier'. God, it's a crappy guitar and he plays it reasonably, as in; managing the melody. But somehow he seems to have trouble hitting the more complicated chords.
Ibanez watches Hendrik join the congregation with an interposed smile of frosty displacement. "When he is best, he is a little worse than a man; and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast." His head tilts to one side, "A penny for your thoughts?"
Pucks voice starts way too high, angelic-like but during the first line it transforms, changing tone and color, down into the range of the baritone.
Simultaneously the androgynous form shifts, into someone looking older scarred and much less pretty version.. with a rubber horn on his forehead. It's a soldier dressed in the medieval uniform, holding a lute, singing his lines from the lyrics;
The soldier came knocking upon the queen's door
He said, "I am not fighting for you any more"
The queen knew she'd seen his face someplace before
And slowly she let him inside.
He said, "I've watched your palace up here on the hill
And I've wondered who's the woman for whom we all kill
But I am leaving tomorrow and you can do what you will
Only first I am asking you why.
Titania finds herself a place to sit and settles down, quietly watching Puck while he tells his tale.
With her eyes flitting over to Ibanez and Hendrik, the Undine Fairy watches Puck. She leans on her staff as if spellbound by the song.
Auspex on Undine Fairy notes:
«has a thing for music»
The Soldier closes his eyes, and his form slowly shifts into that of a young fragile woman with delicate features and a haughty expression. Her long fingers seem to have some trouble finding the snares of the lute, the sleeves of her gown being too long to manage the melody properly. The singing voice is high suddenly, matching that of a female soprano this time;
"In science, man and beast are of the same Kingdom, and in metaphysics they are of the same energies. But in the dark, endless nights of ages long past… they grow apart in desire and reason, and together in tendency and elaboration." says Hendrik to Ibanez. He rubs his chin for a moment… "A quarter for your wisdom?"
"Down in the long narrow hall he was led
Into her rooms with her tapestries red
And she never once took the crown from her head
She asked him there to sit down.
The Queens face blurs again and the soldier returns. His expression is that of someone that has seen too much to be afraid any longer. He glances up at Titania and the rest of her audience, as if -SHE- were the queen, from the song, standing in front of him. The Soldier sings more;
"He said, "I see you now, and you are so very young
But I've seen more battles lost than I have battles won
And I've got this intuition, says it's all for your fun
And now will you tell me why?"
"Nor do not saw the air too much with your hand, thus, but use all gently. For in the very torrent, tempest, and as I may say, whirlwind of passion, you must acquire and beget a temperance that may give it smoothness." Ibanez says, assuredly, nodding as he does this. After a moments spent staring at his toreador conversational partner, his hand rises to land on the others shoulder. "Be thy neither a beast nor a man, but forget little when telling tales better sought of dreams." This, he says in a quiet whisper. "For in dreams we are the waking memory of children and children see the worries of the adults they are not yet become." A pause, "I must depart, else My tongue will tell the anger of mine heart, Or else my heart, concealing it, will break."
Next, the soldier is gone in but a flicker and there's the queen, eyeing the audience with a lifted chin. Did I mention that silly horn on her forehead? Regardless, her words sound haughty and measured, but her expression, her eyes so very uncertain;
The young queen, she fixed him with an arrogant eye
She said, "You won't understand, and you may as well not try"
But her face was a child's, and he thought she would cry
But she closed herself up like a fan.
And she said, "I've swallowed a secret burning thread
It cuts me inside, and often I've bled"
He laid his hand then on top of her head
And he bowed her down to the ground.
Undine Fairy curtsies again towards Ibanez as he leaves, just to be sure, and continues listening to Puck's performance.
Titania stands and curtseys to Ibanez, and then settles back down into her spot.
The image of Puck returns for a moment as he concentrates on the guitar-intermezzo, softly humming along with the melody. When the soldier returns the mans expression seems to have changed. He remains firm, but there is sympathy also;
"Tell me how hungry are you? How weak you must feel
As you are living here alone, and you are never revealed
But I won't march again on your battlefield"
And he took her to the window to see.
Hendrik nods to Ibanez. "Thank you, Lord. Your words are both wise and noble" He bows low to him, taking his time in being formally correct. After a brief smile, he looks towards Puck and the Queen, taking much interest in the song and wonderful transformations before him.
Auspex on Hendrik notes:
«One good thing about music.. when it hits, you feel no pain.»
The Queens eyes are dreamily when she reaches out to gesture at the moon, as if wanting to touch it, but pulling back her hand when she realizes how silly the gesture…
And the sun, it was gold, though the sky, it was gray
And she wanted more than she ever could say
But she knew how it frightened her, and she turned away
And would not look at his face again.
Ibanez retracts his hand from Hendrik's shoulder, smoothly, as if doing so was the entire purpose of putting it there in the first place and bows to all. "Wise are words spoken in good company, when better said in song." He does not interrupt Puck's tale further, but instead departs with as much fanfare as his arrival.
Auspex on Ibanez notes:
«both pleased that he leave in a pleasant spirit and pleased that he is pleased about this.»
Ibanez walks back to the Circle.
Ibanez has left.
The Queen slowly shifts to the image of the Soldier again, but his voice remains high. If anything it's Sams voice, which sounds kinda weird coming from this bulky muscled man.. with the horn on his forehead:
"And he said, "I want to live as an honest man
To get all I deserve and to give all I can
And to love a young woman who I don't understand
Your highness, your ways are very strange."
Auspex on Puck notes:
«For the duration of Sam's play Sam's aura is different from his normal state. He doesn't quash emotions like he normally does. He allows himself to -feel-.»
Hendrik seems particularly entranced.. he steps a bit closer, but still keeps distance in order not to disrupt the performance.
Undine Fairy leans back and forth in time to the music, a smile sweetly graces her lips.
Auspex on Undine Fairy notes:
«enjoying»
Finally, the soldiers form fades and Sam returns, the voice matching that androgynous appearance again; Puck.. or Sam. Still awkward, but less. A trace of mental exhaustion is brushed away while he continues the tale, still 'acting' like the queen, but not able to muster up her appearance again:
But the crown, it had fallen, and she thought she would break
And she stood there, ashamed of the way her heart ached
She took him to the doorstep and she asked him to wait
She would only be a moment inside.
Titania watches quietly, her attention drifting away every now and then. She studies Hendrik for a moment or two, and turns back to Puck.
The sounds of the guitar become only slightly more loud, more stressed as reality returns and the story concludes:
Out in the distance her order was heard
And the soldier was killed, still waiting for her word
And while the queen went on strangling in the solitude she preferred
The battle continued on
Pucks eyes close as he concludes the melody on that crappy guitar and.. starts to realize what he just sung.. in Titania's presence. Heh.. A painful grin appears on his features and he mimics the Undine; performing a curtsy, just to be sure.
Hendrik claps loudly, and whistles with two fingers. "Bravo!" he says, with a wide smile, beckoning Puck to come closer.
Undine Fairy does a balancing act by leaning her staff on her shoulder between her arms and applauds.
Titania grins and claps once more, cheering on the Puck. "Good tale my dear!"
Puck reacts startled by that applause and makes a uncontrolled swing in which his guitar drops and his arms manage to entangle themselves; "Holy Guackamoly! That's a way to scare Robin Good.. Fellow!" And running to the queen with his hands shielding his head; "Thunder approaches!"
Auspex on Puck notes:
«The applause triggers real fear. It's not just acting.»
Hendrik is surprised for a second, furrowing his brow before lowering his head in a chuckle-ridden shake. He looks toward the three before him, and bows low again, imitating a true minstrel in his all-too modern clothes. "Unfortunately, I must be going. My good Queen… my lovely spirit…" he says to the women. Then to Puck, "And you, the troubadour of the highest class… I bid you all adieu until we meet again." Hendrik raises from his bow, holding his guitar tightly now. "Perhaps in the coming nights, I will dress more appropriately."
Titania pats Puck upon his forehead. She comments idly, "Good Puck, good simple Puck.." She laughs softly and stands, "I must go as well. I must find my love after all."
In the mean time, Puck managed to control himself and turns to bow toward both, Hendrik and Titania, in his elaborate manner, swinging arms and legs; "I bid thee a good night and a safe return to your Kingdom.. Lords and Ladies."
Undine Fairy curtsies to the minstrel who now vacates the scene and the Queen as well as she retires.
Hendrik smiles and heads off, clutching his guitar lovingly and walking off into the distance.
Titania departs the group of people including Puck, Hendrik, and Lily Pond - Bardic Circle.
Titania has left.
Hendrik departs the group of people including Puck, Lily Pond - Bardic Circle, and Undine Fairy.
