Herd Jnote Guidelines

Your Herd represents the circle of mortal vessels upon whom vampire characters can regularly feed. Your Herd +jnote should mention:

1. The number of vessels
2. Who they are
3. Where they are
4. How your character is related to them

1. The number of vessels

You can find details on how many vessels each level of herd corresponds to here.

2. Who they are

Although you are encouraged to provide more detail such as names, professions etc., it suffices to offer a rough description of what or who the vessels are.

3. Where they are

The grid-location where your Herd is situated is automatically set via code. This happens when you configure your Default Hunting method for the first time, so make sure you insert the grid you want your Herd to be. Eventually you may want to change this location to the grid your character acquires hunting rights in. Changing your Herd-location must be done by Staff. You can request a Herd-move via +feedback/request.

4. How you are related to them

Think about how your character feeds and what kind of relationship your character would need to have with its herd-members in order to ensure some amount of access and safe feeding. They could be groupies eager for a kiss, a ward of sleeping patients, friends, students or associates that you have some level of intimacy with etc.

Example Herd 2 +jnote

Llewellyn has a herd of 15 mortal humans from which he can take blood safely in the Venice Beach area. Three of them are female strippers at the Gentleman's Club he co-owns. The remaining twelve consist of members of Llewellyn's crime organization based in Venice with whom he associates regularly.
